We work on designing a state-of-the-art and “clean” coal gasification system that ensures optimum energy efficiency of this resource.

As one of the possible ways to diversify energy sources, the technology of underground coal gasification (UCG) is attracting more and more interest in the European Union and globally.

It consists of obtaining energy from coal in situ, by supplying a gasification medium, which is usually air, oxygen, steam or a mixture thereof, into a burning bed and the extraction of formed gas mixture to the surface. The UCG product is synthesis gas with high content of H2 and CO, constituting a valuable input material for the production of synthetic liquid fuels, methanol or substitute natural gas. This gas can also be used to produce electricity in gas turbines as well as heat. In the future, the produced hydrogen could be used as fuel in fuel cells to produce electricity.

Our experts, in collaboration with leading national and international companies and research institutes, work on designing a state-of-the-art and “clean” coal gasification system that ensures optimum energy efficiency of this material.
